Lobster Head Meat Recipes

Some of the most searched phrases regarding lobster head are: “lobster head butter” and “head butter lobster”. As we know, lobster meat goes pretty well with butter. But you can also serve lobster with some tasty side dishes, like potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw or toasted baguette with some garlic butter and herbs. 

 

But if we are about to make something from a lobster head meat, then we might as well check out this awesome lobster head soup recipe. Or we can make a bisque! The difference is that a bisque is made with cream – always. It might have that thicker consistency and richer taste. So, let us start with the recipe, shall we? 

 

You will need: 

  • 4 lobster heads (cooked- or if raw- then cover them with water and simmer for one hour. Make sure to leave the lobster broth)
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 can tomatoes (diced)
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ celery (diced)
  • 2 carrots (diced)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 4 tablespoons tomato paste
  • a bit of wine and nutmeg
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 6 cups lobster broth

 

Instructions: 

 

Melt butter in a pot. Toss onion, celery, carrots and garlic into that pot. Wait until the veggies get that nice golden-brown color. Mix the tomato paste with flour and add it to the veggies. Add lobster broth, tomatoes and wine. Leave it to simmer for at least one hour. After one hour, let it cool. Using a blender, blend the whole mixture until it becomes all nice and smooth. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste, and then pour in half and half. You may serve the bisque with French bread and top it with a bit of Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
