People everywhere are struggling to cope with the new reality that the coronavirus has brought. For many, this means working from home or not working at all. Some people must adapt to being stuck in close quarters with family members or roommates, and some are concerned for their health or the health of loved ones.
Whatever your situations, there are thousands of other people just like you. And we all need to be taking good care of our mental health to avoid stress and anxiety. There are a few ways you can do this.
- Keep in Touch with Family and Friends
Whereas it may be impossible to see family and friends in person, it’s actually easier to be connected than ever. If you don’t have time for a video chat (although you should try to make the time at least occasionally!), it’s always possible to send a quick text. Sharing your feelings and concerns can help you feel less worried. Plus, if you prefer, you can always talk about something completely different to take your mind off the situation.
If you have friends you’ve fallen out of touch with, now is the perfect time to check in with them. Group chats for virtual happy-hour or to sit down for a meal together are also great ideas.
