HP - The history

Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard founded HP in 1939 after graduating from Stanford University. The company's first product, created in a garage in Palo Alto, was a sound oscillator, an electronic device used to test sound apparatus. One of HP's first customers was Walt Disney's movie studio.

For many years, HP was a manufacturer of small electronics and supplier of instruments for research and development centers. Among others, oscilloscopes and voltmeters were manufactured under the Hewlett-Packard logo. The company revolutionized this area of life and quickly established cooperation with world giants. HP services were used by NASA, DARPA or CERN.

HP is considered to be the creator of the first personal computer. In 1968, the product 9100A was presented, but it was called a desktop calculator by the manufacturer for fear of comparisons to the giant IBM.
