Jay C Food Stores have been serving southern Indiana for many years. The fact is that in 1863 John C. Group, a young Swiss immigrant, made his way to Seymour in Indiana. Under the name of JayC Food Store of Scottsburg, adopted in 1927, the company grew to a peak of 44 retail locations in the 1940s.
