Reese Witherspoon thanks teachers for their work during pandemic

After all, the audience may be captive due to stay-at-home orders, but keeping children focused on learning while they're in their rooms is still challenging... as many parents trying to homeschool are finding out. In practical terms this means teachers in some cities and states have to work overtime despite not going to work, many running into 14-hour workdays, preparing for classes in new reality.

Actress Reese Witherspoon decided to acknowledge the tremendous effort. And because over 75% of American educators are women, the celebrity is making use of her fashion label Draper James. She may have stores in only 4 southern states, but with online delivery teachers across America can now apply for a free dress from her current collection.

“These past few weeks have shown me so much about humanity. I have been so encouraged by the ways people are showing up for each other. Particularly the teachers. During quarantine, teachers are broadcasting lessons from their own homes and figuring out new remote-learning technology and platforms on the fly, all while continuing to educate and connect with our kids. Advocating for the children of the world is no easy task, so I wanted to show teachers a little extra love right now.” Witherspoon wrote in an instagram post.
