Wash the produce you can wash. Some phisicians suggest soaping all fruit and vegetables is safest in combating the coronavirus, but there's a separate risk in doing that: if you don't remove all the soap well enough, it will mess with your digestive system. That's why you may feel free to wash in soap only those items – like citrus fruit – that you don't eat with their skin. For all others, like apples or tomatoes, rinsing with water should be enough. Also, as some produce may quickly lose freshness after rinsing, you may consider a separate container for those, to consume within the next few days. But keep in mind, this container should be considered dirty and anything you put in it has to be washed before consumption.
Wash heart packaging. Many cartons, jars or juice/soda bottles are the kind of container you can easily disinfect even with strong detergents without risking contamination of what's inside. For any such sealed containers feel free to wash them before putting in your clean space. One thing to remember: making sure to wipe clean areas where cork/opening is, so that you don't get the disinfectant in what you eat or drink.
Once you're done, put all the removed packaging in the trash, wipe the space it was put on and wash your hands well. There, finally you can enjoy whatever you brought home without worrying about safety!
