The long-lasting push to eliminate single-use plastic had to give way to safety at this difficult times. Some stores may even not allow you inside with a reusable bag. And if they do, make sure it's clean, for your own sake.

In these exceptional circumstances you may want to reconsider taking your reusable bag with you when shopping. In fact, some parts of the country have banned all reusable bags outright, with Illinois, New Hampshire and the Bay Area counties in California being among them.
