Going Back to School During Covid

Going Back to School During Covid

Past couple of months have been really crazy. The pandemic has changed many people’s lives. Schools got shut down and online classes were introduced instead. Study shows that many students have developed a tendency to procrastinate and to generally study less effectively. Even though the coronavirus is still on the rise with its new variants, the world is slowly trying to get back on track, and we hope that children will be able to finally go back to school after Covid and rejoice with their friends.

Basic Back-to-School Safety Measurements During Covid

It may be a bit hard to transition back to in-school learning after the pandemic. Children got used to having their classes online. But the situation seems to be somehow going back to normal – or at least we hope it is. Should I go back to school during the Covid pandemic? This is the question many students and parents ask. Since there are still some cases with patients who tested positive for Covid, the American Academy of Pediatrics has released a special guidance to help and support communities and schools in creating safe school environments during the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of the main AAP back-to-school tips during Covid are: wearing face masks or monitoring student’s attendance. The goal is to keep the students safe and physically present at school. People were wondering if their children will even go back to school with all that Covid-19 craziness. Recent press releases indicate that many schools are expecting a 100% student’s attendance this fall semester!

A Covid Back to School Guide

There are parents who do not want their kids to go back to in-school learning during Covid. A lot of healthcare authorities are doing their best to come up with proper and safe solutions, so that kids can go back to school during the Covid pandemic. Many school districts are planning to be fully in-person this fall. Going back to school post Covid seems to be one of the hardest topics right now. Parents are a bit concerned if sending their children back to school is safe. There is a great deal of people who thought that their kids will be going back to school after the Covid pandemic is over. Unfortunately, the world is still struggling with the virus, but kids still need to obtain their education. Covid caused a lot of unknown back-to-school scenarios. We know for sure, that children have to go back to schools as soon as possible in order to maintain their learning process and routine. Once all the safety measurements are taken – kids will be able to return to their schools safely.

Is the Covid Vaccine Mandatory to Go Back to School?

There are some states that require their university and college students to be fully vaccinated before returning on campuses. When it comes to kids, the opinions are still quite divided here. Some teens already got their vaccines, but it has not been clearly established yet whether the back-to-school plan during Covid-19 will require mandatory vaccines for every student. Of course – no one can go back to school with Covid. That is why, parents are encouraged to observe their children and notify the school in case of any Covid-19 symptoms. Even though the number of children who got infected with the virus is still quite low, schools are fully prepared to deal with a situation when a child tests positive for Covid. Moreover, parents and teachers know that a child who is going back to school after Covid-19 should present a negative test result. Teachers are also advised to monitor children and alert the school authorities in case a student shows any visible Covid-19 symptoms. As you can see, schools are ready to return to classrooms. All we have to do now is to remind our children to be cautious.

Even though this unpleasant virus is still somehow on the loose, kids are allowed to go back to school during this Covid pandemic. Teachers and students have been trained to eliminate the risk of catching Covid, by frequently washing their hands, avoid touching door knobs or handles, wearing face masks and keeping a safe distance if possible. Teachers were told to monitor children and check student’s body temperatures upon their morning school arrival. Many parents are still a bit uncertain whether Covid and going back to school is a good idea. But the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) are certain that with the right safety regulations and some restrictions our children can safely return to their schools.
