King Soopers - The history
King Soopers - the best-known supermarket chain in the Colorado state on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains. It's a brand of Kroger with its headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
The brand is so popular that apart from the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains, can also be found along the Front Range from Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Pueblo, Colorado. There are also a few locations in the west of Denver and Colorado Springs.
The first King Soopers store was opened by Lloyd J. King and Charles W. Houchens in Arvada, Colorado, in 1947. A few years later, there were already nine shops and in 1957, the chain was bought by the Dillon Companies. In 1983, Dillons merged into Kroger.
In King Soopers stores you will find many departments with all necessary products; grocery, meat & seafood, produce, deli, bakery, baby, home & electrics, cleaning & household essentials, beauty & personal care and a few others.
