Fry's - The history
Fry's was founded by Donald Fry in 1954 in northern California. In the 1960s, the company expanded the most and started operating on the Phoenix market. In 1972, Fry's was bought by the Dillons, and then later, in 1983, Dillons merged with Kroger.
Now, Fry's is headquartered in Tolleson, Arizona. There are 123 locations and the company employs around 22 000 people.
It's one of the biggest supermarket chains operating in the Arizona state.
The company also operates under the banner of Fry's Marketplace which is a department store that offers full-service grocery, pharmacy, but also general merchandise such as outdoor living products, electronics, home goods and toys.
