T-Mobile - The history
The co-founder and current sole owner of T-Mobile is the global telecommunications conglomerate Deutsche Telekom Group (DT), which includes T-Mobile and T-Systems. The Group employs over 226,000 people globally and operates in 50 countries. Deutsche Telekom is one of the global market leaders in integrated telecommunications services. It serves more than 242 million mobile customers, more than 27 million fixed-line customers, and more than 22 million fixed-line broadband customers (more statistics).
T-Mobile provides mobile services using 2G, 3G, and LTE technologies covering almost 100% of the US population and area, as well as Voice over LTE and Voice over WiFi. From 9 June 2020, T-Mobile customers can use the 5G network. Fixed-line services are provided using T-Mobile's own and leased fiber-optic network, and thanks to over a dozen Data Centers, T-Mobile also offers a whole spectrum of ICT services.
The highest quality of T-Mobile's voice and data services is confirmed by independent network quality studies. In a survey conducted by the independent company umlaut (formerly P3 Communications) in May 2020, T-Mobile achieved the highest score among all operators for the fifth time in a row, obtaining 919 points out of a possible 1,000 and winning in the category of mobile voice and internet.
