FoodMaxx - The history
FoodMaxx, founded in 1986 is one of the largest grocery store chains in the United States and provides its franchisees with franchisees a number of solutions thanks to which they can effectively compete in the market. It is also the most recognizable brand among franchise chains, whose key value is a close relationship with customers and a comprehensive meeting of consumers' needs.
The first two Food Maxx stores opened in Bakersfield, California in partnership with the Fleming Company.
The company operates 204 traditional and price impact stores under the banners of Save Mart, Lucky, Lucky California, FoodMaxx, and Maxx Value Foods. In addition to its retail operation, the company also operates Smart Refrigerated Transport and is a partner in Super Store Industries (SSI), which owns and operates a distribution center in Lathrop and the Sunnyside Farms dairy processing plant in Turlock.
