Bi-Mart - The history
Bi-Mart was founded in 1955 and its headquarter is located in Eugene, Oregon. It's a chain of employee-owned retailers located in the states of Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. The first store was opened in Yakima, Washington, but the second store was opened only after 7 years in 1962. Now, there are around 75 stores.
After having several owners, finally in 1997, Bi-Mart's management and Endeavour Capital bought the company and then sold it to employees on March 1, 2004, for $94 million.
The assortment of Bi-mart stores includes electronics, housewares, sporting, hardware and power tools, packaged food, clothing, and also personal care products.
