Micro Center - The history

In 1979, John Baker and Bill Bayne left RadioShack and decided to form a micro center with only $35000 as investments. Its first store was only 900 sq. feet in Upper Arlington, Ohio. It mainly deals with electronics, consumer electronics, and accessories. Micro Center received huge support from Ohio State University and also the scientific think tank Battelle Memorial Institute. During its first year, the Micro Center achieve a sales of $29.9 million.

Currently Micro Center has 25 stores in 16 different states. As from 2015, it has 2750 employees generating over $2.5 billion in terms of revenue. It is one of the biggest computer and electronic shops in the country.
