Ollie's Bargain Outlet - The history
Ollie's Bargain Outlet is an American discount store founded in 1982 by four local partners, including Oliver "Ollie" Rosenberg. The first store was opened in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The retails store is a fast-growing retailer, which uses the tagline "Good Stuff Cheap." Ollie's Bargain Outlet deals in selling merchandise at a deep discount. The company operates over 300 stores in 23 states across the eastern half of the country. The store offers a wide range of brand-
name products such as housewares, food, books, bed and bath, floor coverings, toys, health and beauty aids, and many others.
Ollie's distinguishing feature is its humorous caricature of co-founder, Oliver Rosenberg. Because of Ollie's unusual looks, as well as his popularity, the idea was to create unique caricatures as the store's logo. Due to characteristic signage, Ollie's Bargain Outlet cannot be mistaken with any other store.
