County Market - The history
In 1917, Ferd Niemann, Sr. and Steve Niemann made a decision to open their first grocery store. By 1930, they already had 10 shops. The first real supermarket was introduced in 1940, to Quincy, Illinois customers.
County Market is one of the main chain stores operating under the Niemann Foods, Inc. (NFI) flag, a company that has its headquarters in Quincy, Illinois and currently manages over 100 supermarkets and other stores.
Shops under the name of County Market operate mainly in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri.
The company is currently headed by Rich Niemann, Jr.
The chain offers grocery, meat & seafood, produce, bakery, deli, dairy & frozen, wine & spirits, floral centers and even catering.
